Part 2 of Donation Drive!

Here is the 2nd part of our Donation Drive. (I dunno how many parts I will have so don't ask)

This is probably gonna be the best one yet.

As announced earlier all donations over our goal will be donated to the Sandy Hook Elementary Support Fund, in addition, I've talked to the other managers and to futher show our support to the community, we are closing our servers down for 1 day on Friday begininng at 9 AM (the time the shooter entered the school). We will change the Server Name Displays to say "Taking the day off to remember the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary". This was inspired by a thread posted in Off-topic where a guy wants all gamers to take the day off from playing FPS games. I read this article before seeing it on the forum here and was going to post it but from the response I've seen most of our members will understand and respect our decision here.

Also, in better news, we've added a new perk to our donation drive donators. For every dollar you donate during the donation drive, you will be entered into a raffle drawing(*SEE RULES BELOW*). I have a pile of prizes to give away and I think this is the best way to do it. So at the end of the month, I will do a live drawing on TS and using Ustream (baring i don't crash). The first winner will get to pick a "wrapped" prize from the prize pile to unwrap. This prize will be shown to everyone. The next drawn winner will have a choice to "steal" the opened prize from the first winner or pick another "wrapped" gift from the pile. This will continue till all the prizes are opened or everyone who donated has a prize. Each prize can be "stolen" 3 times. On the third time it will be locked to that person. This game is basically called "Dirty Santa" "Yankee Santa" and a few others.

If you are not present for the live drawings, they will open an "unwrapped" gift at random. If someone steals their give they will open another "unwrapped" gift.

*RULES*

• You must be an active member of TNS. (We are considering active meaning you've posted in the past 2 weeks, however, if you are server active, you may request to be included. You must send me a PM by Decemeber 25 requesting it and I will confirm your activity and get back to you)
• You can not win multiple prizes, multiple entries to the raffle only increases your chances of getting to pick earlier.
• If you donate, you may not win a prize. I cannot guarentee I will have prizes for everyone, I will try my best. But say we get a ton of people donating.
• You must donate at least $5. We cannot allow small amount donations to qualify as paypal does take a cut and it would not be fair for us.
• We hold the right to deny anyone entry if we so choose.
• We hold the right to change the rules if we feel its necessary.

To go futher, after I came here I saw that PC Gamer published an article stating what we all know is coming: http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/12/20/vi...of-sandy-hook/

It was only a matter of time before the media jumped to this. They have no answers to why this happened so now they'll start blaming everything else.

By us shutting down our servers for 1 day, we are showing that we do not condone the actions of the shooter. We care about something more than just the games. We want to be part of the solution not the problem.

I only hope our actions resonate through the other gaming communities for them to do something simular.
